Tangier, on the Strait of Gibraltar, is the entry point for travellers arriving by ferry from Spain or flying into northern Morocco. Its tours lean north-and-south: short routes take in Chefchaouen and Fez, while longer 7 and 8-day circuits push all the way to the Sahara Desert and back through Marrakech.
It's also the most efficient base for combining the Blue City, Meknes, and Fez in one loop before heading south, which makes Tangier a good starting point if you want to see the north of Morocco properly rather than passing through it.
