Your driver picks you up from your hotel, riad, or the Tangier port and heads south. The road runs through Tetouan, worth the stop for its own UNESCO-listed medina, then climbs into the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen. You arrive with enough daylight left to wander the blue quarter before dinner. Overnight at Dar Nomads / ElPalacio / TerraePlus or similar.
The road continues to Meknes, where the monumental Bab Mansour gate marks the old imperial city, then on to Volubilis, Morocco's most complete Roman site, its floor mosaics still in place after centuries underground. You reach Fez by early evening. Overnight at Dar Janne / Jnane Medina / Farah or similar.
You spend the full day inside Fez el-Bali with a licensed local guide, walking to the Chouara tanneries, the Bou Inania madrasa, the Al-Quaraouiyine university founded in 859 AD, and the Blue Gate. Overnight at Dar Janne / Jnane Medina / Farah or similar.
You drive to Rabat, Morocco's royal capital, and spend the day at the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Kasbah of the Udayas, perched above the Atlantic estuary.
You stop at the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, then follow the coast south to Essaouira, a UNESCO port city built around sea ramparts and known for its fresh seafood.
The road east cuts through the argan forest, with an optional stop at a women's cooperative to watch the oil pressed by hand. You reach Marrakech by midday. Overnight at Dar Soukaina / Mandaline or similar.
Your final day runs with a licensed guide through the Bahia Palace, the Majorelle Garden, and the dyers' quarter and spice souks. Afternoon drop-off at your hotel or Marrakech airport.
